? Course Overview

Standard First Aid is the most widely required safety training in the workplace—equipping participants with critical lifesaving skills and knowledge. This comprehensive 16-hour course covers essential first aid practices and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants.

Whether responding to medical emergencies, trauma, or environmental conditions, participants will gain the confidence and competence to act effectively until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrive.

  • Managing partial and complete airway obstructions

? Medical & Trauma Emergencies

  • Recognition and first aid for heart attack, angina, stroke (TIA)

  • Internal bleeding, shock, and unconsciousness

  • Seizures, diabetic reactions, and childbirth emergencies

  • Poisons, bites, and stings

? Injury Management

  • Control of severe external bleeding and amputations

  • Care for open and closed wounds

  • Head, spinal, and pelvic injuries

  • Bone and joint injuries

  • Burns (thermal, chemical, electrical)

? Respiratory & Circulatory Systems

  • Basic anatomy and function of the respiratory and circulatory systems

  • Risk factors and signs of cardiovascular disease

  • Respiratory emergencies: asthma, hyperventilation, anaphylaxis

? Environmental Conditions

  • Heat-related illnesses and cold emergencies

  • Drowning and inhalation injuries

? Secondary Assessment Techniques

  • Principles of secondary assessment

  • Recovery position and patient monitoring

? Special Considerations

  • First aid for the eyes, ears, scalp, mouth, and nose

  • Emergency childbirth procedures

  • Assembling and maintaining a workplace first aid kit
